DIFP Director Chlora Lindley-Myers appointed to serve as vice-chair of the International Insurance Committee
Jefferson City, Mo – The Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration continues to play a key role in the U.S. system of state-based insurance regulation by maintaining leadership roles on multiple committees for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
Director Lindley-Myers has been appointed to serve as the vice-chair of the NAIC International Insurance Relations (G) Committee. This committee is responsible for coordinating NAIC participation in international discussions on and development of insurance regulatory and supervisory standards and to promote international cooperation. The Committee also coordinates on international insurance matters with the U.S. federal government, including the U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury Department), the Federal Reserve Board (FRB), the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), the U.S. Department of Commerce and other federal agencies. In addition, the Committee provides an open forum for NAIC communication with U.S. interested parties and stakeholders on international insurance matters.
"I look forward to continuing our work with the NAIC on key issues that impact consumers and industry in Missouri as well as looking after our global interests," said Department Director Chlora Lindley-Myers. "There are a number of internationally active insurance groups with their primary US operations or international headquarters in our state. I will utilize my leadership role to ensure that developments on the international stage will lead to positive outcomes for consumers and our international insurers.”
Lindley-Myers also will serve as vice chair of the NAIC Information Systems Task Force and the Reinsurance Task Force. She serves as a member on twenty additional NAIC committees.
