Missouri Insurance Director Shares Insights during the 39th Annual I-Day
Jefferson City, Mo– Missouri Department of Insurance Director Chlora Lindley-Myers joined other industry professionals to discuss emerging issues during the 39thAnnual Insurance Day (I-Day).
“It’s critical that our industry professionals understand current issues and trends that impact consumers and the market,” said Director Lindley-Myers. “I-Day represents a great opportunity for insurance professionals, regulators and students to learn about these issues and the different perspectives surrounding them. We can do a more effective job on behalf of Missouri consumers when we learn and work collaboratively.”
The Central Missouri Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Society Chapter and the Insurance Professionals of Mid Missouri (IPMM) hosted the event where students from the Risk Management and Insurance Program (RMI) at the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business learned from leaders in insurance regulation.
Insurance professionals heard Lindley-Myers give an update on major accomplishments of the last legislative session, including Senate Bill 594 which is intended to improve the speed to market of new commercial property and casualty insurance products. Looking ahead to the upcoming legislative session, she provided some insights into other National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) model legislation which will again provide an opportunity for insurance regulators and the industry to work together to make improvements which benefit Missourians.
The Central Missouri CPCU Society Chapter was formed in 1979 and hosted their first annual I-Day in 1980.
