Insurance Company Rate, Rule and Policy Form Filings
The Division of Market Regulation of the Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration (“the Department”) collects and maintains various records related to the business of insurance pursuant to Missouri Revised Statutes ("RSMo") Chapter 374. The Department is committed to providing access to public records in accordance with RSMo Chapter 610 ("Missouri Sunshine Law"). All public records, which have not been declared by law to be closed, for which the Division of Market Regulation has legal custody and control, are available for inspection or copying as permitted by sections 610.021 through 610.035, RSMo. Documents that are closed are not available on this website.
Additionally, not all things related to insurance must be filed with the Department. For instance, there is no requirement for health insurance rates to be filed with the Department. Rates, rules or forms are filed with the Department only when required by the Missouri law applicable to that insurance product.
Electronic Public Access to Insurance Company Filings
In an effort to make public records more accessible to the public, the Department is pleased to offer the public two methods of electronically accessing insurance company filings. Filings are available electronically upon the completion of the Division’s review.
Insurance company filings are now available to the public through the SERFF Filing Access (“SFA”) website. Through the SFA, you can view filings conveniently from your home, office or anywhere you have access to a computer, at any time – day or night. There is no charge associated with this method.
Filings can also be reviewed by using the computer kiosk located in the Department. This kiosk is available by appointment only during normal business hours. There is no charge to review filings or to download on electronic media; however, there is a cost when printing company filings. The cost of printing is 10 cents per page. Please call the Market Regulation Division at 573-751-3365 for more information about the public access computer or to schedule an appointment.
