Surplus Lines Application and Requirements

Requirements:

Pass the Surplus Lines exam. If you are a non-resident, we may issue a license based on reciprocity if you are currently licensed in your home state for Surplus Lines.
Residents must hold or be applying for a property and casualty insurance producer license.
Submit an application and pay the $100 fee.

Update Your License Information

Name changes must be submitted to the MO Department of Commerce and Insurance within 30 days of each change and may be completed by going to the electronic name change for immediate updates.
Address changes must be submitted to the MO Department of Commerce and Insurance within 30 days of each change.
- For all address changes within your resident state, go to electronic address change for immediate updates.
- Use the Change of Producer status form for all other updates.
