Bail Bond and Surety Recovery Agent Licensing Application and Renewal Requirements
To qualify as a Missouri Bail Bond Agent or Surety Recovery Agent, you must:
- Be 21 years old
- Be a United States citizen
- Have a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Completed an approved 24 hour initial basic training course
- Pass the required examination
- Bail Bond Agent applicants will need to submit a General Bail Bond Agent Signature Form to be completed and signed by the General Bail Bond Agent under whose authority they will be working.

New Applicants
- Submit an application and pay the $150 licensure fee.
License Renewals
- Submit a renewal application and pay the $150 licensure fee. An additional $25 per month late fee will be due for any renewal application submitted after the expiration date of the license.

How to Submit an Application for Course Approval
The department has contracted with Pearson VUE for processing of applications for continuing education courses. Pearson VUE uses Vertafore’s Compliance ExpressTM (Sircon) at www.sircon.com to submit course applications/renewals.
