The Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance (DCI) regulates the insurance companies that offer Medigap policies in Missouri.
Medigap (Medicare Supplement) is offered by private insurance companies to help fill the “gaps” Medicare doesn’t cover, such as copayments, coinsurance and deductibles. Generally, anyone with Medicare Parts A & B is eligible for Medigap.
Plans are assigned letters A through N, and are not to be confused with the “parts” of Medicare, such as Parts A & B. Each Medigap policy plan must offer the same basic benefits, no matter which insurance company sells it. For example Plan K from insurance company ABC must offer the same benefits as Plan K from insurance company XYZ.
