CLAIM offers free counseling to Missourians with questions about Medicare.
Mission Statement
CLAIM is the Missouri State Health Insurance Assistance Program. Trained counselors provide free, unbiased advocacy, education, and assistance to people with Medicare and those who help them to make informed decisions about Medicare and related health insurance needs.
Who We Are
CLAIM has been Missouri’s official State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) since 1993.
We are a nonprofit organization. All our services are free, unbiased, and confidential. We are not an insurance agency. We do not sell anything. Our counselors do not ask for money.
CLAIM has more than 250 volunteer counselors throughout Missouri who provide local Medicare counseling in their communities. Volunteers receive extensive training to become certified Medicare counselors and continue to receive updates and trainings on a regular basis.
Missouri Connections for Healthprovides the services for the CLAIM program through a contract with theMissouri Department of Commerce & Insurance (DCI). Funding is provided by the Administration for Community Living(ACL) with oversight by MO DCI.
How CLAIM Helps
Missourians let us know they need help in one of three ways:

Our friendly call-center staff will take your name and basic information. Then we relay that information to one of our local community partners. Within days, a volunteer counselor calls back to set up an appointment or to discuss your Medicare issue by phone.
The helpline is open all year from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. - Filling out our online form
Leave your information using this form 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week. This will send an email directly to CLAIM, which will work just like a phone call, only there’s no chance you will have to wait on hold.
Please do not submit any personal information (SSN, DOB, Medicare #, etc.) via the online form. - Visit a CLAIM event
CLAIM frequently takes part in events across Missouri. Keep an eye on our website (www.missouriclaim.org) for an event in your area.
