Watkins Life & Benefit Association "WLBA" was placed into rehabilitation on Nov. 8, 2011. On Oct. 31, 2013, the Cole County Circuit Court entered a Judgment, Decree and Order of Liquidation terminating the Rehabilitation and placing WLBA into Liquidation and appointing John M. Huff, Director of the Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration as Liquidator.

WLBA assessments are no longer due. Underpaid and overpaid policies will be equalized in the liquidation process. Living policyholders do not need to file a claim for liquidation proceeds.

In Liquidation, WLBA life insurance policies terminate at 11:59 p.m. CST, Nov. 30, 2013. No life insurance claims will be paid for deaths occurring after the policy termination.

All life insurance and creditor claims must be received by the Liquidator by 5 p.m. CST, Dec. 31, 2013. After all life insurance claims are paid, the Liquidator will present a plan to distribute WLBA's remaining assets to policyholders and other creditors.
