The Missouri Small Business Regulatory Fairness Board (SBRFB) has asked all state agencies to make clear that if a small business requests SBRFB’s assistance on a matter or otherwise questions, complains or has concerns about a state agency’s action, the agency will not retaliate in response.

The Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration (DIFP) is committed to maintaining an environment in which small businesses are free and encouraged to raise complaints, questions or concerns about any DIFP policies, regulations, actions or practices. The DIFP’s employees are prohibited from any type of retaliatory action against any small business raising a complaint, question or concern. The DIFP takes such concerns and allegations very seriously and strives to avoid even the appearance of retaliation.

The DIFP believes in fair regulatory enforcement actions. A complaint, question or concern brought before the SBRFB or the DIFP about any DIFP policies, regulations, actions or practices will not stop or delay investigations or legal or administrative proceedings that are part of the DIFP’s ongoing responsibility to enforce relevant state laws.
